The Hidden World within Sea Ice

Have you ever wondered what makes it possible for seals, polar bears, and people to live in the Arctic?

Four activities in this kit:

  • Hands on exploration: Salty and Fresh Ice

  • Art Activity: Draw and imagine life inside the ice

  • Food Web Game: Can you build a food web to support a polar bear?

  • DNA detective: match that DNA sequence!

This kit contains all the materials and directions to learn about sea ice and the importance of microbes in the Arctic. It is available for check-out through the Museum of the North.
